Lately...

Woah. A lot has been going on. Do I have a single picture of any of this? Doubtful.
But I wanted to document some of this, more for me than you. {No offense.}

Last night, I got home from night class. Skyler said, "Did you notice what I did...?" & so of course I felt guilty and was looking around my apartment trying to figure out what he'd rearranged/cleaned/whatever. Nothing. He could not stop laughing at me, so then for some reason it seemed logical to me that he'd done something to my face, so I started feeling it. (18 hour days, people. Don't judge my stupidity.)
Turns out, it was HIS face! Skyler loves to grow his scruffy mountain man beard out and I less-than-love it. But it's November, and I don't want to take his manliness away, so I've been putting up with no-shave-November. He shaved! Wootwoot. That totally deserved a few kisses. He knows how to make his future wifey happy, and shaving is definitely towards the top of my list! :)

In other news, I'm probably getting, like, the worst-fiance-ever grades, lately.  I considered getting Christmas decorations and making my apartment all Christmasy, for our first Christmas together. I thought about it. & then I thought, "I have a billion other things going on, and we're barely going to be here in December." So, I decided against it. Bummer, right?! No first Christmas tree, no hanging ornaments together, no stockings over the fireplace (haha, ok, no fireplace...), and no sugar cookies.  I'm lucky he loves me, because I suck at being a cute little homemaker wife already! ;)

I got my student teaching application, which I have to get done before January.  I'm actually almost done with school!! Hooray!  It's super exciting, but also stressful, because we both know I'll be bringing in $0 income next Fall so we have to save like crazy until then, so that we can survive next Fall semester.  I am so, so ready for that next chapter {& even more ready to be done with college!!}

So here's the last story.  My sister designed and got our wedding invitations printed and everything. She specifically went to the post office, waited in line for 30 minutes, and got it weighed/measured/everything. The man told her it needed standard postage. So standard postage I bought. & stuck on 19,308,423 freaking invitations (slight exaggeration).
Fast forward to yesterday, after working 8 hours and having a massive headache and a mile long to-do list, & the knowledge I was about to suffer through night class. Skyler & I ran to the post office to mail all of the invitations.
& ohmygoodness!--I dealt with the rudest lady, ever. Seriously. She had a huge attitude, informed me that all of the invitations needed 20 cents extra postage (and seemed as if it personally offended her that I did not already know this, even though Rebekah checked!).  My patience was being super tested because she was just really rude and acted like I was stupid the whole time, so I just bought the stupid ugly stamps and calmly asked what time they close.
Her response?: "Uhhh, five?" (She said it like it was a question, but like, "How the heck didn't you know that, little girl? You're stupid.")  It took a lot of personal restraint for me not to reach across the counter and slap her because there is nothing I hate more than for someone to talk down to me, but I just grabbed our box of invitations, and walked away with the new stamps we needed in hand.  (Side note: they have George Washington on them. Totally not cute. Sigh.)
So I was torked and had done my best to be patient and polite to her, even though she was a total witch. We put those stamps on lickety split, ran them back to the post office, mailed them (for real this time, & yes of course I got stuck in her stinking line again), and it is FINALLY!!! done.  Huge sigh of relief! :)
