This Fall has been absolutely nuts! Skyler moved here in August, we both started school and working the next week, and have been busy busy busy ever since! Having him here (finally) has been amazing, and has solidified our relationship in ways that just couldn't be done, long distance. There is nothing I love more than our lunch breaks together, and our late night Jersey Shore marathons. (For the record, he's the one who loves to watch it, not me. & I'm not even kidding, for once.) I love having him here to cook for, and he's such a good help around my apartment. I cook all of our meals here, but he almost always does the dishes, and is always ready to help me with anything I need. I am so blessed.
76 days from right now, I'll be his Mrs. and I am absolutely ecstatic! :) There has been so much planning that has gone into the wedding, so far, and I'm seeing how different our lives before each other were. Can I just say that Utah has a culture of its own?! (& I'm sure that, that being said, so does Nebraska.) We're so blessed to have people in our lives who love us enough to help us make all of the decisions and arrangements, because wedding planning is TOUGH! We're pushing through, and Sky's been a trooper; again, I'm blessed.
All of that being said, we've been having a LOT of fun!! :)
For a while, we were on a major tennis kick. Some of you may remember the golfing disaster I am, and so trying tennis with Skyler was definitely iffy, but I'm not too bad! The first day he spent the entire time chasing balls, but the next times, I was better and could actually play matches...sorta. :)
I've been spending a ton of time with the babes at the daycare, and they are absolutely adorable. Some days are a struggle, but for the most part I love it. It's so fun to see them start to use the manners I insist upon, and see them start to understand the rules that are set in our room. They're learning!! :) Some days it makes me completely baby hungry. Then there's days when 4 out of 6 are in time out, and 3 out of 6 are screaming, and I am going off 4 hours of sleep. Star teacher moment: Whenever they're screaming for no reason, I have a tendency to say, "That's eNOUGH!"; Thursday, one of my two year olds turned to another little girl who was throwing a fit and said, "eNOUGH, (name)!!!" Hahaha. Whoops!
But really, it was enough. They each definitely have their own personalities, and it is so fun to watch how much they learn and grow.
Sky is working at a sports store. (Is that what they're called? Like, workout clothes, and stuff.) He loves it and is quite the salesman. I'm so proud of him!! One night, he sold $1500 of stuff in just a few hours... dang, right?!
School is suck, for both of us. We both have tons of busy work and then tests that our professors didn't actually prepare towards. Cool. Thank goodness I only have one semester left (hallefreakinglujah) and then Student Teaching, which I feel more than ready for. Poor Skyler still has quite the road ahead of him still... he should finish up his bachelors the semester after I student teach, if we have it all figured out right. After that, who knows where we'll end up. My mom is convinced we'll be in Utah in no time. I'm not so convinced. Part of me hopes he'll apply to schools all over the country, and we'll go where we feel is best for us/best for his schooling. I'm pretty ready for a little adventure; it's been too long since I've really gotten out of my comfort zone. I miss me some China; wanderlust is kickin' in. We'll see what happens. I've already told him, where ever we go has to be his choice... he has to be the one to love the school he picks. I can be happy anywhere.
Mostly, I'm feeling incredibly blessed to be where I am, right now. As excited I am to be married to my best friend, I am also very very happy being engaged--it's so fun! We have our dates to the park, the movies, cooking dinner for eachother, and Redbox movies. We're living a simple, but very happy, life together.
& I wouldn't trade these days for anything.
On a final note, it's General Conference weekend which always gets me thinking; to quote someone much better than me, "I am one of those rescued." <3
Blessed, blessed, blessed.
Blessed, blessed, blessed.
